Arnesen and Associates was formed in 2016 and is co-owned by John Arnesen and Juliet Crooks. In this short time we have established a solid client base and have had a number of project successes. As the client’s need is uncovered, the project team is compiled to match the need to address the challenge innovatively, insightfully, and with the wisdom of experience.

Prior to starting Arnesen and Associates, John’s corporate career spanned nearly forty years. During this time, he has worked in executive positions for Eskom, the Institute of Marketing Management, the Financial Planning Institute, the South African Qualifications Authority and Chartall Business College.

John has gained extensive insight and experience in marketing communication, general management, project management, education management and policy, strategy and leadership.

John has attained a Bachelor of Commerce [Rhodes University 1978], an Honours in Business Economics [UNISA 1983], a MDP [UNISA 1985], the General Manager Programme [Harvard Business School 1998], and the Chartered Marketer programme [Institute of Marketing Management 1999].

About Juliet Crooks

With 6 years experience in Marketing, Events and Communications in the business to business market, I have gained insight in project management, communication, digital marketing and strategy. I worked at IQ Business, a management consulting firm, for 5 years in the Marketing department learning and gaining experience in understanding the full marketing mix. During that time I built up my skills in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.

I completed my BA Marketing Communication Honours degree in 2010 at The University of Johannesburg. I have a certification in Adobe Illustrator as well as being a Certified Process Professional through the BP Group.

Marketing and branding inspires me. I am creative and hardworking with a love for brand transformation.

About Meryl Arnesen

Meryl has worked in education for over 30 years and has a gained a reputation as a brilliant teacher in the primary schooling system. She has a deep understanding of pedagogy as it is applied in the classroom and is recognised for her ability to bring out the best in pupils.

Meryl has also worked with challenged pupils and has been successful in ensuring they progress in the mainstream schooling system.

Meryl has a practical knowledge of assessment as an instrument for both teaching and learning progress evaluation.

Since retiring from the teaching profession, Meryl has specialised in research [quantitative and qualitative], assessment development and implementation and pupil coaching/mentoring.

Meryl has a degree from Rhodes University with majors in Psychology and Geography. She also holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Primary Education.
